Se han combinado bajas temperaturas, grandes cantidades de nieve y altos vientos, creando un clima de invierno bastante desagradable en la mayor parte del norte de Estados Unidos y hasta en algunas partes del sur, que generalmente son mucho más inmunes a condiciones tan duras. Por todo el norte de los EE.UU., el frio y los altos vientos se han combinado con nevadas produciendo condiciones de manejo peligrosas. Este es el clima típico de Diciembre en Montana y las Dakotas, y también es común en Chicago. Sin embargo, es muy inusual para zonas como Seattle y las ciudades costeras, que raras veces reciben más de un poquito de nieve o alcanzan temperaturas bajo cero. Esta semana, Seattle ha estado cubierta con más de 10 cm de nieve y con temperaturas bajísimas. Esta banda de clima frio, con viento y nieve se ha extendido hasta la Costa Este, donde ha plagado a Boston y a los estados de New England. Bitterlich kalte Temperaturen, viel Schnee und hoher Wind kombiniert haben das Winterwetter sehr unangenehm gemacht in dem nördlichem Teil der United States und sogar in einigen südlichen Staaten, die normalerweise nie diese rauhen Bedingungen erleben. Überall im nördlichen Teil der USA sind es die bittere Kälte und hohen Winde, die das Fahren sehr gefährlich machen. Dies ist typisches Dezember Wetter in Montana und den Dakotas und nicht ungewöhnlich in Chicago. Es ist aber sehr ungewöhnlich für Seattle und die Städte an der Westküste mehr als ein bisschen Schneefall oder sogar Temperaturen unter Null zu haben. Diese Woche wurde Seattle mit ungefähr 10 cm Schneefall und sehr kalten Temperaturen überrascht. Dieses kalte, windige Schneewetter erstreckt sich bis zur Ostküste, wo es Boston und die New England Staaten plagt. Sogar in Las Vegas, in der niedrigen Wüste von Nevada, wo man so selten Schnee sieht, gab es mehr als 10 cm Schnee. Solch ungewöhnliches Wetter kann ein Alptraum für Autofahrer sein. Städte, die oft solches Wetter erleiden wie Chicago oder Boston haben ausreichende Ausrüstungen und Anlagen, um Schnee schnell von Strassen und Flughäfen zu räumen. Doch Städte wie Las Vegas und Seattle, die so selten Schnee sehen, haben weniger Maschinen und Fahrzeuge, um damit fertig zu werden. In den Städten Seattle und Las Vegas war man gezwungen die Flughäfen sowie einige Hauptstrassen für mehrere Tage zu schliessen, während sie mit dem ungewöhnlichem Wetter kämpften. Doch jetzt ist alles wieder geöffnet.

とても寒い気温、豪雪、さらに強風が重なり、アメリカの北半分の州ほとんど、そして通常このような厳しい条件に影響されないアメリカ南部の一部の州でさえも、不愉快な冬の天候を体験しています。　

アメリカの北半分全域を通過した寒波と強風は降雪を伴い、危険な運転状況を作り出しました。これはモンタナ州やダコダ両州では典型的な12月の天候であり、また、シカゴでは珍しくありません。しかしながら、この天候は、シアトルおよび海岸沿いの都市のように、冬に少しの降雪がある、またはめったに気温が氷点下にならない地域ではとても珍しいことです。今週、シアトルは約10㎝の降雪があり、氷点下の気温を記録しました。寒波、強風、そして降雪が重なったこの天候は、ボストンとニューイングランド州に被害を与え、東海岸までずっと伸びています。　　ネバダ州の低地の砂漠に位置していてめったに雪が降らないラスベガスさえも10㎝以上の降雪がありました。このような異常気象はドライバーの悪夢になりえます。シカゴやボストンのようにこのような天候に慣れている都市には、道路および空港から速やかに除雪する十分な設備と施設があります。このような状況をめったに経験しないラスベガスやシアトルのような都市には、大量の降雪を扱うための除雪設備が少なく、また、緊急車両もほとんどありません。シアトルおよびラスベガスの両都市では、この異常気象に対処することを試みている間、空港と高速道路をしいて数日間閉鎖しましたが、現在、空港と高速道路は通常通り利用できます。

Des températures très basses, d' énormes chutes de neige ainsi que des vents forts se sont mélés pour créer un temps désagréable dans toute la partie Nord des USA jusqu' aux états plus au Sud qui ne subissent jamais ces conditions. Toute la partie Nord des USA, à cause des chutes de neiges impressionantes et des vents forts certains états voient des conditions très difficiles et même dangereuses surtout sur les routes. Pour le Montana et les deux états du Dakota ainsi qu' à Chicago c' est normal pour le mois de décembre. Cependant pour Seattle et autres villes maritimes il est rare de voir autant de neige et des températures aussi frigides. Cette semaine la ville de Seattle a été recourverte de 10 cm de neige ou plus aux alentours et a vu des températures basses à casser les records. Ce front froid, accompagné de vent et de neige s' étend jusqu' à la côte Est, Boston et la Nouvelle Angleterre et les états avoisinants. Même Las Vegas, dans la partie basse du désert du Nevada, a vu de la neige, jusqu' à 10 centimètres dans certains endroits. Ces conditions peuvent devenir un vrai cauchemar pour les voyageurs. Les villes qui sont habituées comme Chicago et Boston sont équipées et sont prêtes avec leurs agences et services de nettoyage pour déblayer les routes et les aéroports. Les villes comme Las Vegas et Seattle, qui expériencent rarement telles conditions, sont moins bien équipées et peu de véhicules d' urgence pour maitriser la neige. Seattle ainsi que Las Vegas ont dû fermer leurs aéroports et certaines routes principales et nationales, pendant plusieurs jours tandis qu'ils essayaient de faire face à ce temps peu commun, ils les ont récemment réouverts.

Bitter cold temperatures, heavy snow and high winds have combined to make the winter weather very unpleasant in most of the northern half of the United States and even in some of the southern areas normally immune from such harsh conditions.

All across the northern half of the USA, bitter cold and high winds have combined with snowfall to produce hazardous driving conditions. This is typical December weather for Montana and the Dakotas and is not uncommon in Chicago. It is, however, highly unusual for Seattle and the coastal cities to receive more than a bit of snow or to rarely achieve below-freezing temperatures. This week ,Seattle was blanketed with about 10 cm of snowfall and bitter cold temperatures. This band of cold, windy and snowy weather extends all the way to the East Coast where it plagues Boston and the New England states.

Even Las Vegas, in the low desert of Nevada where snow rarely falls, received more than ten centimeters of snow. Such unusual weather can be a nightmare for drivers. Cities that are acustomed to such weather like Chicago and Boston have adequate equipment and facilities to quickly clear snow from roads and airports. Cities like Las Vegas and Seattle, that seldom experience such conditions, have little snow handling equipment and few emergency vehicles to handle severe winter snowfalls. Both Seattle and Las Vegas were forced to close their airports and major highways for several days while they attempted to cope with this unusual weather, but they are now reopened.

New York City Hotels

I recently returned from a short business trip to New York City. I usually travel to the Big Apple at least two or three times a year, and I love it. It is a huge vibrant metropolis with an immense selection of entertainment and cultural diversions. I like to attend one of the Broadway, or off-Broadway shows, to visit the museums or the other tourist attractions, to eat in one or more of the huge variety of restaurants and to just absorb the vibrant atmosphere of the city. Like most US natives that do not live in New York City, I frequently say, "New York City is a great place to visit, but I would not wish to live there."

The reason that I and many other non-New York residents, do not wish to live in the city is mainly due to the cost. It is a very expensive place to live. Houses, condominiums and apartments typically cost two or three times the price of similar accommodations in most other cities. The hotel rooms are typically double the price of similar accommodations in other cities.

It has always been a challenge to find decent accommodations at affordable prices in New York City. After numerous visits to the Big Apple, I was finally able to find a few secret bargains at lesser known but nice hotels. Every time I went there on a business trip, I stayed in those affordable hotels near the heart of the city in Manhattan. Recently, it has become much more difficult to find such bargain accommodations. Most of the inexpensive-but-nice hotels have either disappeared or have raised their prices to the point where they are no longer bargains.

The average price of decent hotel accommodations in New York is now about $300 per night. There are still some Manhattan hotels in the $200 range but they are typically the less-desirable ones. The under-$300 hotels are usually older, a bit more dilapidated and often in the inaccessible or insecure neighborhoods.

For the past year or two, New York has been blessed with a healthy number of visitors vying for a limited supply of hotel rooms. Most hotels filled up. As their occupancy rates approached full capacity, the hotels began charging premium rates. For the past few years there have been almost no "last minute" bargains. The best prices were to be found only by booking well in advance. Once any hotel neared full capacity, it usually began charging "last minute gouge the customer" prices. That may now begin to change due to the current economic meltdown.

On recent trips to New York City, I have been forced to look in other areas for bargain hotel accommodations. Here is what I found:

If you stay outside of Manhattan, it is a bit less convenient, but you can still find bargain accommocations. When I drive to New York City, I usually stay at hotels in the Secaucus New Jersey area. This unremarkable little community amidst the commercial and industrial suburbs in New Jersey offers a nice selection of hotels with spacious rooms, free parking, modest prices, and easy access into Manhattan. Secaucus may not be beautiful, but the accommodations are affordable and the neighborhood is relatively secure.

Another bargain area for accommodations is the neighbohood surrounding Newark NJ Liberty Airport. This area is likewise not beautiful but is affordable with easy access into Manhattan. The commute from Newark to Manhattan is a bit longer than it is from Secaucus.

I have also stayed on the other side of the city in Brooklyn and Queens. Most of the affordable hotels in Brooklyn are located in the vicinity of JFK Airport. These hotel rooms are typically more spacious than those in Manhattan, they are significantly cheaper and parking is much less expensive, but the neighborhoods do not appear to be very secure after dark.

I prefer the accommodations in Queens which are mostly located near La Guardia Airport. The hotels in this area are typically more spacious than in Manhattan, the parking is cheaper and the neighborhoods are a bit more secure. A few weeks ago, I stayed at the Wingate Hotel in Flushing New York less than two miles from LaGuardia terminal. The neighborhood is oriental with Chinese Restaurants, Korean Barbeques, Japanese Sushi Bars and Noodle Houses on every block. It is a relatively safe neighborhood even after dark. My room was spacious, clean and in excellent repair. It cost only $139 and parking was a mere $14 per day. A similar room would cost $300 in Manhattan with parking adding an additional $35 per day.

I ate dinner at Joe's Shanghai Restaurant just two blocks from the hotel. It was rated as the best restaurant in that area by Trip Advisor. This modest establishment was crowded with local residents confirming it as one of the most popular restaurants in that area. Wow! It served some of the best Chinese food that I have ever tasted.

Historic US Election

After nearly a year of incessant political campaining culminating with a frenetic last few weeks of countless television harangues from the two presidential candidates, the people of the USA have finally chosen a new president. They elected Barak Obama as the first Afro-American president in the 200+ years history of the USA.

His impressive win included majorites of the voters in many states across the USA. It included a broad base of support from white, black, asian and hispanic voters. It included support from urbanites in the major cities and from citizens in small towns and rural communities across the land. It incuded rich and poor, highly educated and less educated voters. Such a decisive win indicates the widespread dissatisfaction with the policies of the current political administration and with the thirst for a change in the direction we are headed.

I hope and pray that he can deliver it.

I have been traveling to Europe at least once a year for the past decade. I know that most of the Europeans that I met were never hostile to the USA nor resentful of it. They idolized our principals of democracy and freedom. The USA was long viewed as a beacon of freedom for the rest of the world, as the champion of the poor and the opressed, as a protector of human rights and as the shining example of a working democracy.

Over the past eight years, that image was badly tarnished. My European friends grew increasingly disappointed. They saw "preemptive invasions", secret detention centers, condoned torture, imprisonment without trial, and government spying on its own citizens. "What happened to our beacon of hope?" "Where is our shining example of freedom and democracy?" they cried. I understood their disappointment. Many of us in the USA shared their disappointment. We yearned for a return to the principals of freedom and democracy that our fathers had long enjoyed. Our country was primed for a change.

Yesterday, Barak Obama was chosed as our instrument to bring about that change.

Today the world looks at the USA in admiration and says "If a black man can rise up and become the leader of this great land, then perhaps it is a real democracy after all!" Most of us in the US share this sentiment. Today, we are proud to be part of this great country.

Se Extiende le Programa de Viaje con Exención de Visa

El Presidente Bush anunció recientemente que el programa de exención de visa, para viajar a los EE.UU. sin visa, será extendido a siete países más. Actualmente hay 27 países en el programa de exención de visa, lo cual permite a sus residentes visitar los EE.UU. por un período de hasta 90 días sin obtener una visa. Para mediados de Noviembre del 2008, la República Checa, Estonia, Hungría, Latvia, Lituania, Corea del Sur y Eslovaquia se van a sumar al listado. Los residentes de estos siete países podrán visitar los EE.UU. por un período de hasta 90 sin una visa siempre y cuando posean un pasaporte biométrico y se registren por Internet en el Sistema Electrónico de Autorización de Viaje (siglas en Inglés ESTA). Este nuevo sistema de registro por Internet para viajes ha sido activado en su totalidad y está disponible para todos los visitantes que viajen a los EE.UU. participando del programa de exención de visa. Visum Erlass Reisen erweitert

President Busch hat neulich bekanntgegeben, dass das Programm, das Reisen in die USA ohne Visum erlaubt, für sieben weitere Länder erweitert wurde. Momentan gibt es 27 Länder in diesem Programm, dass Visum Erlass erlaubt. Deren Bürger sind erlaubt, die USA für bis zu 90 Tage ohne Visum zu besuchen. Mitte November 2008 werden die Tschechische Republik, Estland, Ungarn, Litauen,Lettland, Süd Korea, und die Slowakei in dieser Liste der Länder mit eingenommen werden. Bürger von diesen sieben Ländern werden erlaubt sein, die USA für bis zu 90 Tage ohne Visum zu besuchen so lange sie einen biometrischen Pass besitzen und sie sich durch das elektronische System für Reiseerlaubnis anmelden (ESTA). Diese neue online Reiseintragung ist nun vollkommen aktiv und steht allen Reisenden zur Verfügung, die ohne Visum in die USA reisen wollen. Bis jetzt war es eine freiwillige Annehmlichkeit, doch im Januar 2009 wird diese Eintragung von allen Reisenden verlangt. Le président Bush a récemment annoncé que le programme delevée des visas de voyage pour venir aux USA inclura de nouveaux pays. Il y a présentement 27 pays compris dans ce programme qui permet aux résidants de ces pays de venir visiter les USA jusqu' à 90 jours sans avoir à obtenir un visa. D' ici la mi-novembre 2008, la république tchéque, l' Estonie, la Hongrie, la Latvie, la Lithuanie, la Corée du Sud et la Slovakie joindront cette liste. Les résidants de ces sept nouveaux pays pourront visiter les USA pour jusqu' à 90 jours sans visa tant qu' ils aient un passeport biométrique et qu' ils se soient enregistrés sur internet auprès du système électronique pour les authorisations (ESTA). Ce système d' enregistrement est complêt et actif et disponible pour tous les visiteurs des USA. Maintenant il n' est que volontaire mais à partir du 1er janvier 2009 il sera obligatoire pour tous visiteurs. Visa Waiver Travel Extended

President Bush recently announced that the visa waiver program, for travel to the USA without a visa, will be extended to seven more countries. There are currently 27 countries in the visa waiver program that allows its residents to visit the USA for up to 90 days without obtaining a visa. By mid November 2008, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, South Korea and Slovakia will join that list.

Residents from these seven countries will be able to visit the USA for up to 90 days without a visa as long as they posess a biometric passport and they register online through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).

This new online travel registration system is now fully active, and available for all visa waiver visitors to the USA. So far, it has been a voluntary convenience, but in January of 2009 it will become mandatory for all visa waiver visitors.

Visas para Viajeros con Diagnósticos Positivos de VIH

El Departamento de Seguridad del Territorio Nacional de los Estados Unidos finalmente ha emitido una nueva reglamentación que determinará la emisión de visas para viajeros infectados con el Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana (VIH). Esta nueva regulación simplifica el proceso de obtención de visas para viajeros que deseen obtener una visa de corto plazo para visitar los EE.UU.Anteriormente, las personas infectadas con el virus VIH no podían obtener acceso a los EE.UU. a menos que recibieran una exención individual especial del Departamento de Seguridad Nacional. Le département de la Sécurité Nationale des US (Homeland Security) a finalement émis un nouvel ensemble de règlementations pour gouverner l' assurance des visas des voyageurs infectés avec le virus Human Immunodefficiency Virus (HIV). Cette nouvelle règle améliore le processus pour obtenir un visa à court terme pour venir visiter les USA. Précédemment, les personnes infectées avec le virus HIV ont été niés l'accès aux ports d' entrée des USA à moins qu'ils aient obtenu une levée spéciale pour individu donnée par le département de la Sécurité Nationale (Homeland Security). Maintenant n' importe qui infecté avec le virus HIV qui passe les autres qualifications de visiteurs peut obtenir le visa de visite dans un consulat américain dans leur pays. The US Department of Homeland Security has finally issued a new set of rules governing the issuance of visas for travelers infected with the Human Immunodefficiency Virus (HIV). This new regulation streamlines the process of obtaining a short-term visitors visa to visit the USA.

Previously, persons infected with HIV were denied access to the USA unless they obtained a special individual waiver from the Department of Homeland Security. Now, anyone infected with HIV that meets all the other visitor qualifications, can obtain a visitor's visa from the US consulate in their home country. This should make the process much more convenient and rapid.

Daños Causados por el Huracán en Texas

La semana pasada, el Huracán Ike azotó la costa de Texas, cerca de la ciudad porteña de Galveston. Este inmenso huracán de categoría 3 ha causado extensos daños en Galveston y las comunidades costeras vecinas, con menos daños a la ciudad de Houston, a sólo 35 millas de la costa. La mayoría de las ciudades de Texas no sufrieron daños serios. Los turistas que viajan a Texas no sufrirán grandes inconvenientes. El aeropuerto en Houston está abierto y la ciudad está limpiando lentamente los escombros. Hay algunas pocas calles y rutas que todavía permanecerán cortadas por unos pocos días más hasta que bajen las aguas. Dieser heftige Kategorie 3 Hurrikan hat grossen Schaden angerichtet in Galveston und den naheliegenden Küstengemeinden mit etwas weniger Schäden in der Stadt Houston nur 56 km im Lande. Die meisten anderen Städte in Texas erlitten weniger Schaden. Für Touristen die nach Texas reisen ist dies hoffentlich keine grosse Unannehmlichkeit. Der Flughafen in Houston ist geöffnet und die Stadt ist langsam dabei die Trümmer fortzuräumen. Einige Strassen werden noch einige Tage gesperrt sein bis die Gewässer langsam zurückgehen. Auf der anderen Seite ist Galveston nicht zugänglich für Besucher für mehrere Wochen während Hilfsarbeiter versuchen mit der weitgehenden Zerstörung fertig zu werden. Das Houston NASA Luftraumzentrum, welches in der Nähe von Galveston liegt, ist verübergehend geschlossen und Besuchern nicht zugänglich. Andere Städte wie Dallas, San Antonio und Austin sind vom Hurrikan Ike weniger betroffen worden.

La semaine dernière, l' ouragan Ike s' est acharné sur le Texas le long de la côte surtout sur le port de Galveston. Cette immense tempête de catégorie 3 a causé d' énormes dégats sur Galveston et autres communautés maritimes avoisinantes ainsi que dans la ville de Houston à 35 miles à l' intérieur des terres. La plus part des autres villes du Texas n' ont pas été aussi touchées. Pour les touristes qui voyageaient au Texas, ça a dû être une grosse inconvénience. L' aéroport de Houston a réouvert et la ville est en plein nettoyage des débris, Quelques rues et routes sont encore fermées pour plusieurs jours jusqu' à ce que les inondations disparaissent. Cependant à Galveston tout est fermé indéfiniment aux visiteurs pour plusieurs semaines, les aides sont sur place pour aider avec la destruction. Le centre spatial Houston NASA Space Center, qui est proche de Galvaston, est aussi fermé temporairement aux visiteurs. D' autres villes du Texas telles que Dallas, San Antonio et Austin ont été un peu affectées par l' ouragan Ike.

Texas Hurricane Damage

Last week, Hurricane Ike hit the Texas coast near the port city of Galveston. This immense category 3 hurricane caused widespread damage to Galveston and nearby coastal communities with lesser damage to the city of Houston just 35 miles inland. Most other Texas cities were spared from serious damage.

For tourists traveling to Texas, it should not cause great inconvenience. The airport at Houston is open and the city is slowly cleaning up the debris, A few streets and roads will remain closed for a few days until the waters slowly recede. On the other hand, Galveston will be completely closed to visitors for some weeks while aid workers attempt to deal with the widespread destruction. The Houston NASA Space Center, which is situated near Galvaston, is temporarily closed to visitors.

Other Texas cities, such as Dallas, San Antonio and Austin have been little affected by Hurricane Ike.

The Autumn Spectacular Leaf Show

We are now into autumn once again, and the annual changes are beginning. I happen to live in the northeastern part of the USA. Autumn is a great time of year in this part of the country.

The weather is typically very dry with bright sunny days and cool nights. You can still work or play outside in short-sleeved shirts and short pants. In the evening, you can enjoy the cool breezes. In the night, you can sleep comfortably under a warm blanket.

The grand spectacular annual autumn leaf show will soon begin. It typically starts in the far northern states like Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire around the first week in October. The date cannot be accurately predicted, because much depends on the weather and climactic conditions. The show moves south from there, In Pennsylvania, we get it around the middle of October. Further south, it may begin as late as the end of October.

Unfortunately, the far southern states miss out on the annual extravaganza. In Florida, California, Arizona and Texas, they get milder winters without all of the snow and ice that we experience, but they completely miss the great leaf show every autumn. In those warm southern states, their vegetation typically turns brown during the hot summers, then green during the cooler, wetter winters and springs. There is no kaliedoscope of colors during the autumn changes. Many southerners get on tour busses and drive north just to witness our wonderful leaf show.

All of the northern states experience this autumnal change when the leaves on the trees turn from green to other colors before they drop from the branches. In the northeastern states it is the most spectacular. We have forests of mixed hardwood trees including maples, ash, oak, cherry and walnut. Each variety produces a different range of hues during the autumn change. The various varieties of maple produce a vibrant array of bright reds, yellows and oranges. The oaks produce shades of carmine, brown and cordovan. Sumacs turn flaming crimson. Some of the trees even retain their green until the end of the show. Together, they make a kaliedoscope of polychromatic vistas that completely envelop the hills and valleys.

Unfortunately, the show only lasts a few weeks. In the beginning, the forests are predominately green with a few flares of red or yellow from individual maple trees. Within days, the color spreads to include more and more trees, until the whole forest is a profusion of color with bits of green from the last holdouts scattered throughout. By the end of the second week, many of the leaves have dropped to the ground, and the remaining colors are beginning to fade to shades of brown and tan. Eventually, all of the leaves are on the floor of the forest and the trees sadly display only naked branches and twigs.

If youi want to see this spectacular leaf show, plan on visiting the northeastern states sometime during October. Vermont is a popular tourist destination during this time of the year. It has rolling hills and lofty mountains all covered with mixed hardwood forests. The leaf show is extremely picturesque in that state. I would plan on visiting during the first or second week of October. The show should be well underway at that time.

If you visit Pennsylvania or New York, you should time your visit a bit later in the month. The show should reach its peak around the third week in October. In West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland, it will probably peak by the end of October.

Village indien inondé

La tribue indienne Havasupai et son village héréditaire de Supai se trouve dans le Grand Canyon. C' est un des endroits le moins accessible tout en étant un site magnifique des USA. Supai est situé à 13 km fd' une route courrante et à 1000 m de profondeur dans le Grand Canyon. On l' accède seulement par le canyon, à dos de mule ou cheval sur un petit sentier de traverse ou via hélicoptère. C' est le seul endroit des USA oû le courrier est livré par des mules. Cet habitat ancestrale de la tribue indienne Havasupai est incroyablement magnifique. Les murs du canyon sont de roche rouge et rose qui s' élèvent jusqu' à quelques mille pieds de chaque coté avec une gorge étroite au milieu. Des rivières d' eau claire comme du cristal se jète dans des bassins d' eau turquoise naturels. Il ressemble à un horizontal qui a été particulièrement conçu comme paradis pour les photographes. Malheureusement ce paradis fût inondé et le village de Supai a énormemment souffert du déluge. Près de 400 indigènes et plusieurs touristes ont été évacués par hélicoptères la semaine dernière lorsque les eaux sont montées si vite dans ce canyon étroit. Les pluies se sont calmées et les eaux reculées de leur très haut niveau ce qui a permis aux habitants de pouvoir retourner chez eux. Maintenant, ils doivent tout nettoyer et réparer les endommagements de cette destruction. Le sentier qui mène au village est abîmé aussi et certains ponts détruits. Ça va prendre du temps à tout remettre en ordre pour cette attraction unique et inouïe pour que les touristes puissent y revenir.
