Hi all

I'm arriving with a friend to the US near the end of July.

We would like to pre-book the first few days in a hostel in LA, to to have somewhere to get settled in for the big trip.

We would like it to be in a good area in LA and also close-by to some auto dealerships since we're buying a car.

We would like a recommendation for an area in LA or for specific hostels names if possible.

I do not know the names of any hostels to recommend in LA.  The area near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has a large selection of hotels in every price range including many budget hotels.  This area is also near commercial areas with car dealerships and used car lots.

You mention buying a car in LA.  I hope you understand the difficulties of driving a purchased car in the USA.  Read our page about car buying tips. It may help you understand the difficulties.  Buying a car in the USA is no problem, but registering the car so you may drive it in the US can be very difficult.  You will need a permanent address in California, in order to register the car and to obtain the license to drive it.
