in the east:
Charlottesville Virginia: mainly because I've wanted to see Monticello for many years.
Thomas Jefferson is one of my favorite founding fathers and former president of the usa.
Orlando Florida: mainly because of Epcot Center which I've wanted to see for about 20 years.
I may also spend a day or two or so revisiting Disney World and other nearby attractions
and maybe one or two that I didn't see when I was there as a teen with my family in 1981.
Nashville TN: particularly in late spring or early summer next year during what was once called Fan Fair,
that I think is now called the CMT music fest or something like that.
in mid usa:
Cleveland Ohio: because I want to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and maybe other things nearby.
maybe chicago.
maybe other places in the mid usa, I used to read the Little House books avidly as a kid, so maybe something to do with them.
in the west:
Mount Rushmore which I've wanted to see for some time.
the Rocky Mountains (that I grew up hearing John Denver sing about) and Red Rocks
(where my current favorite singer-Stevie Nicks sometimes performs and others do too.)
in the southwest:
Arizona: I've visited here 4 times previously, am doing so again just after christmas this year and will do so just about any chance I get, the desert has it's own unique beauty and I love visiting Sedona when I can.
I also hope to visit the Grand Canyon which I've never visited before when out there.
Utah: from what I saw at least once or twice from tv/good morning america weekend: weekend window
there are some beautiful places here that are much like the colors and scenery that I love Sedona Arizona for.
I've never been to California, or the midwest, or northern west usa coast.
I've never really seen much of Texas other than spending about 6 weeks in Dallas.
I've never seen Lubbock Texas the birthplace of Buddy Holly.
I also have some friends in Texas. I have some friends in Tennessee too.
Since there are a number of places that I know I want to see, I think a bus or train trip (or one of each) would be a good idea.
what do people here think?
and are there any places that I haven't mentioned that people wish to suggest that I visit?
thanks.:)
