Re: my first visit to US

    Hello,

I do not think it would be possible to see everything you mention in the time you have...especially since you will be spending 2 of your 4 weeks in Atlanta.  You have basically mentioned 3 areas to visit in the furthest regions (northeast, southeast and south west).  You will need to fly between several of these destinations, which will add on a good bit of expense.  And you still would not have much time to see the sights.

It is tempting to try to see everything on your first visit.  But in reality you can make yourself too busy running from destination to destination to enjoy anything.  I recommend picking just one region of the U.S. and focusing on it for this trip.

Please use our distance finder tool here:  http://www.usatourist.com/english/tips/travel/travel-map.html  You can find the distance in Miles and Kilometers, drive time and fly time between each place you mention - Atlanta, New York City, Boston, Buffalo (near Niagara Falls), Orlando (for Disney World), Los Angeles (Hollywood) and Las Vegas.  We do not list any cities in New Jersey at this time.  But destinations in Jersey are within reasonable driving distance of NYC.  Keep in mind that the drive time does not include any rest stops or traffic situations.  And the flight  times are for direct flights, which can be difficult to get since airlines have reduced their flights.  Typically I spend 8-12 hours in transit when flying from the west coast to the east coast.  The actuall flying time is about 5 hours, but the time spent sitting in airports really increases the time.

Since you are flying into Atlanta, I recommend that you either head south to Florida and Disney World or head north for NY, NJ and Boston.  You can fly into Boston and use their fantastic public transportation to see the sights.  Then head to NYC either by plane, train or bus.  When you are ready to leave NY, you can travel to New Jersey or Niagara Falls by rental car.

Go to www.amtrak.com for train info.  www.greyhound.com for bus info.  www.usatourist.com/english/reservations/reservations-cars.html to search and compare car rental rates.

And you may want to consider flying back to India from a city other than Atlanta.  That will shorten the travel time required to get you home.
